Short Films
Over the years there have been a few short film projects each of which had different tailored breifs. Overall the short film industry is a passion of mine and something I would wish to take further with future projects.
01. Mockumentary
Ghost Encounter
A short mocumentary style film made to mimic classic ghost hunting telivision. Large portions and bits were improvised on site, in effort to find the best commedic beats which fit the pacing and the time schedule of the film.
02. Sound Design -
Fantastic Mr Fox
A quick exercise in demonstrating the value of sound. While word for word these scripts are the same, the tone and characters seem vastly different when presented side by side from one another. This allows viewers to compare both scenes and appreciate them in new lights.
Original Clip
Revamped Sound
03. Vertical Viewing
The Woman
Using a vertical style of filming to capture the new growing trend of vertical filming to suit smart phones. As Instagram Reels and TikTok become more popular, these new styles of filming are essential in staying relevant. The fast paced medium also presents itself with a new challenge in standing out. Projection does this by showing itself as a mystery, compelling the user to think about the short film and fill in the gaps themselves, stopping them in their doom scrolling tracks.
04. VFX
Projection
Largely an experimental work and a jump into the world of VFX. This short film tells a thought-provoking tale of the murder of a girl in her own home. The film takes advantage of both computers based VFX and strategic lighting in order to create an ominous atmosphere, bringing viewers to the edge of their seats.
05. Trailer Work
The Wizard of Oz
Advertisement for an imaginary TV show, the Cult of Oz project aimed to show the story of a modern-day Dorothy as they unlock more secrets surrounding a mysterious cult. The advertisement consisted of making profiles and blog surrounding the centre character of Dorothy, as they investigate this strange secretive group.
