2D Animation

The project underlines the main dos and don’ts of wild camping in Scotland. As Scotland has a right to roam act, it means camping in Scotland in legal in most sites, so long as it’s not private property. Rules are however encouraged to be followed, to keep the countryside clean and any disruption to a minimum. This short animation set itself to be a light-hearted approach in educating viewers alongside the main character Bob.

Storyboards

While work has been done in the past on animatics and the likes, this was the real first stab at motion graphics. Pre-production therefore was imperative in planning a smooth animation with each of the assets on hand, along with in depth storyboards and style frames to refer back to.

Style Frames

These extra frames were also handy in the editing as this meant I could have reference images on hand to refer back too. The main character was also adapted since this.

Wild Camping

Final Animation

The Animation pacing was changed with a large amount of animations tightened up a little. Some extra illustrations of wildlife were added along with some extra sound effects to help with cohesion.
